The Honourable Justice Cindy A. Bourgeois

Justice Bourgeois had been presiding in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia in Sydney since she was appointed to the Bench in 2009. Recently, she moved to the Supreme Court sitting in the Halifax Law Courts.

She came to the Bench five years ago from private practice, most recently as a managing partner with Hicks, LeMoyne. She had been with the firm since 1992 when she was called to the Bar.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University in 1988, a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie Law School in 1991, and a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in June of 2011.

Justice Bourgeois will replace the Honourable Justice Linda Lee Oland on the Court of Appeal. Justice Oland has elected to become a supernumerary judge as of June 22nd, 2014.
